Thirty years with my Danner Boots

by Ron Ennis, 5/13/2009

I got my first pair of Danner boots in the early 50’s as a boy scout. My parents were very careful with their money and only purchased high quality goods. My feet were already 9 1/2 E (still are) and so I wore those hiking bookts to death over about 10 years. In the early 60’s I worked in the Oregon woods for the BLM and was required to have caulk boots (Corks as we called them) and of course I bought them from Danner. Fast forward to 2007 when I recycled them. I had, by this time wiped out most of the caulks and the others were quite worn down, but thirty years of a lot of use ( backpacking in the last 20 years) wasn’t bad. Now I find out that you re-furbish old boots…I could have gotten another thirty.
