Thirty years with my Danner Boots
I got my first pair of Danner boots in the early 50’s as a boy scout. My parents were very careful with their money and only purchased high quality goods. My feet were already 9 1/2 E (still are) and so I wore those hiking bookts to death over about 10 years. In the early 60’s I worked in the Oregon woods for the BLM and was required to have caulk boots (Corks as we called them) and of course I bought them from Danner. Fast forward to 2007 when I recycled them. I had, by this time wiped out most of the caulks and the others were quite worn down, but thirty years of a lot of use ( backpacking in the last 20 years) wasn’t bad. Now I find out that you re-furbish old boots…I could have gotten another thirty.

Does anyone make a decent boot anymore? i should be a testor for your company as i cant make a pair of Danners last any more than a year. At this point in time i wont buy another pair.
Been buying Danner boots since the 70’s the super rain forests last 25 yrs. If you take care of them they will last foreever.I have worn the sole out first,I only use Danner boot grease.Oregon Union Hand Buy American first you should be happy that we have such a Great American boot maker keep up the good work Danner your Great! I should also state that I only buy the USA boots made in Oregon!!!!!!!USA! USA! USA! USA!
I would have to agree that in the last 6 or 7 years the quality of boot made by Danner has decreased. With that said I still can not find a pair of boots by another brand that will out perform Danner. Hopefully they will go back to the ways that made their product worth the money spent out of our hard earned pay check.I will always buy them it is just a little harder to spend the money not knowing how long they will last.
