Colorado

Hunting is my passion. This fall was the first time that my husband and I had the opportunity to go out west and elk hunt. We were in Trinidad Colorado with Full Draw Outfitters. The views were amazing, the Spanish Peaks were inspiring to say the least. We put in alot of miles stalking our prey, we could not have done it without our Danner Boots. Our adventure gave us ample opportunity to watch wildlife including mulies, bears, coyote, pronghorn antelope, mountain lion, and of course elk.

Our trusty guide, Lee Elk Slayer and I stalked to within 24 yards of elk, him softly cow calling, the wind shifted and gave us up, they were out of range in a flash. I had a bull bugle 62 yards from me in thick cover, his bugle so loud I could feel it in my chest, what a rush. Jim belly crawled within 80 yards of a herd but ran out of cover. He just enjoyed the show of the big bulls bellowing to the cows.

When you hunt it’s not always about the harvest but the path that takes you on the adventure.
